2017 Dunrovin Ranch Equine Art Extravaganza

Submission requirements: submit a minimum of 2 conceptual design sketches with an accompanying list of materials and bio/artist statement to email@example.com by May 31, 2017
Notification date: selected artists (limit of 6) will be notified by June 15, 2017
Event date: August 19, 2017
Sponsor: The event is sponsored by the Friends of Dunrovin which is a 501 c3 nonprofit organization whose charitable mission is to promote human, animal, environmental, and community health.
Contest description: Dunrovin Ranch would like to invite you to participate in an extraordinary art contest that involves using live horses as art canvases. Our theme for 2017 is “A Horse of a Different Color”. The Equine Art Extravaganza will be hosted at Dunrovin Ranch in Lolo, MT and online via Dunrovin’s network of web cameras.
Awards: A panel consisting of local artists, gallery owners, and others will select first, second, and third place winners. The first place winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize, the second place winner will receive a $500 cash prize, and the third place winner will receive a Dunrovin Ranch gift certificate for $300. online public viewers can vote for their favorite decorated horse by making a $5 donation to the Friends of Dunrovin for each vote cast. The first place winner will receive 20% and the second place winner 10% of the net (donations minus credit card processing fees) revenues received in the voting process.

Open only to UM students, staff, or faculty

Post-Prom: Systems & Solutions
Deadline: Apr. 15
Notification of acceptance: Apr. 25
Reception Date: May 6
Theme: “We are encouraging artists to create work that resists the encroaching definitions of the larger system and actively imagines solutions. How can we stand up for each other? Can we build our own systems that meet needs left unmet? Can we defy alternative facts and define our own truth?”
To apply: Send at least one jpeg of your work and a brief description of what you are submitting, and how it relates to the theme “Post Prom: Systems and Solutions,” to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Restrictions: No restriction on types of media/sizes of original work. No limit on number of works you can submit, but 1-3 works per artists will likely be accepted depending on size. Works on paper must be framed with no exposed edges. 2-D works must be ready to hang. We can provide pedestals for 3-D work, so please mention in your submission if you need.
Artwork should be dropped off by Sun Apr 30 between 2-5pm and be picked up by Sun May 7, 2017 between 2-5pm, or by other arrangement.

Theme: “Let It Enfold You”, inspired by the Charles Bukowski poem
Details: A showcase of 2D and 3D visual fine art by artists in any chosen medium (including performance art for the receptions on July 7 & August 4). Creativity is encouraged and we welcome emerging as well as established artists.
Eligibility: Open to all artists in the United States, 18 years of age or older. Can submit up to 5 artworks, open to all media.
Entry Fee: $25 (non-refundable) for up to 5 entries. $5 for oversized work (48″ any direction).
