Hat Making/Parade

Southgate Mall, 12 pm to 2 pm

Join us as we kick off Missoula’s city-wide First Night celebration. Children are invited to decorate a hat for the parade. Hats & supplies are provided, though pre-made hats are invited to walk in the parade. Prizes for the most creative hats will be awarded. Enjoy cookies and juice as you watch. Sponsored by Mountain FM, ABC/FOX, and Southgate Mall.

The Mime Christian Ackerman does mime routines to music and yes, get’s stuck in a box from time to time, he does the robot, break dances, and much more. His comedy is for all ages. He performs funny silly routines and also performs dramatic mime pieces as well.

Hands On Games with Meadowlark Science & Education

University Center – 3rd Floor Lounge, 1 pm to 5 pm

Join Meadowlark Science and Education, LLC and UM’s Center for Environmental Health Sciences in a hands on game activitiy: Learning About Carbon Monoxide or Asthma for Kids! Play two fun STEM based iPad games and enter for a chance to win your own copy!

Montana Clown Work proudly presents Curly’s Funtastic KidZone finally coming of age! For 21 years the KidZone has been helping celebrate First Night Missoula. Featuring a whole range of activities for the little ones, the KidZone is a hit with the families of First Night patrons. Attendance is always strong!

The Salamanders are an awesome all-ages rock band from Missoula, Montana. We are a positive thinking collaborative of accomplished singers, songwriters, and musicians who firmly believe that music is a great gateway to creative expression, exercise, wisdom, and fun!  The Salamanders released their first album in 2015 and were awarded the “Creative Child Award” for CD of the Year!
