Two new youth bands art hitting the First Night scene thanks to Playing with the Band, a program of Tangled Tones Music Studio. See Submarine Socks and Tambourine Queen debut the skills they learned from professional musicians through the program.
Former First Night Spotlight finalists Jalynn Nelson and Sophia Therriault return as Red Dress, a band dedicated to harmonies and matching outfits. Check out their new folksy spin on popular music as well as some new original works.
Slip on your dancing shoes! Let the rhythm move you, and hum along with Basses Covered’s three-part harmonies. Our favorite selections of rock, folk, doo wop, country and jazz covers are probably your favorites, too. The band features Carla Green (bass, vocals), Eric Pfeiffer (guitar, vocals) and Marlene Hutchins (bass, guitar, vocals).
Good time house rockin’ party band with a lot of soul for all ages. Zeppo holds the crowd til closing. Folks can’t wait to hear what the next song will be.
Originally formed in 2000 as a 4-piece dance band, Full Grown Band has evolved, morphed, and expanded into a full-blown, horn-driven powerhouse of 7 of Missoula’s most talented and credentialed musical performers from several genres of music, including R & B, Blues, Jazz, Country, Americana, Folk and Latin.

This Side of Truth creates live music (experimental roots, folk, jazz, blues…) in the moment from a musical palette of original songs with an occasional cover. Harmonica, flute, banjo, and percussion in concert with guitar, the use of slide, harmonics and open tunings create the TSoT sound experience, more poetic in form through instrumentation, innovation and style.
Crow’s Share is Ryan Bundy, who surrounds himself with homemade banjos, guitars, slide guitars, stomp boxes, and electronics to create songs and stories that pull from deep traditions of old-time porch picking music, but twist themselves into something new.
Dark folk duo Edgar Allen Kubrick bring haunting lyrics and melodies to life with raw, uninhibited performances driven by expert musicianship.
Bozeman based Kickboxer live up to their name as the trio delivers high energy, rapid fire rock that will keep you on your feet while knocking you over with lyrical complexity and one of the best drummers this side of the continental divide.
