April Werle is a First Generation Filipino-American Artist and Muralist.
Werle merges the iconic landscapes of Montana with Bisayan motifs and places hand characters within these spaces. These seemingly out-of-place hand gestures pose the question, “What does it mean to belong?”. For these characters, she creates fused worlds of eastern and western aesthetic, visually expressing her diasporic experience.
